Mokah-Jasmine Johnson is a public figure, motivational speaker, music artist, and successful entrepreneur with a deep commitment to advocating for racial and social justice. As an Executive Director, co-founder, and experienced educator, Mokah brings over 20 years of leadership to her work, alongside a Master’s Degree in Education Media Design and Technology.
Mokah leverages her extensive background in business and community organizing to guide and inspire emerging entrepreneurs, and women, to achieve their full potential. Her approach combines practical business strategies with a passion for uplifting marginalized voices, making her an influential figure in both the business and activist communities.
Together with her husband, Knowa D. Johnson, Mokah co-founded United Group of Artists LLC, where they have produced impactful events such as the Athens Hip-Hop Awards and the Athens MLK Day Parade & Music Fest. Her activism, sparked by her response to discrimination in Athens, Georgia, has led to significant victories, including ending local cash bail and establishing anti-discrimination ordinances.
Mokah’s dedication to community mobilization and equitable policy change has earned her recognition on platforms like Vice News. She is also a published author, with titles like “Spirit of an Activist: Stop Sitting on the Sidelines” and “Let’s Talk about the School-to-Prison Pipeline,” which serve to educate and empower the next generation.
In 2020, Mokah expanded her advocacy into the political arena, earning endorsements from prominent figures like President Obama and Stacey Abrams during her campaign for Georgia House District 117. Through “Mokah Speaks to Inspire,” she channels her energy and life experiences to transform, educate, and empower others, with the ultimate goal of inspiring action and creating lasting change in her community—while living life to the fullest.
